From Forgotten Toys to Everyday Joy: The Story Behind My Upcycled Toy Keychains

There’s something special about toys.

They hold memories — of childhood bedrooms, favourite characters, and moments that once brought so much joy. But too often, when toys break, get scratched, or fall out of trend, they end up forgotten in a drawer… or worse, tossed into the trash.

That’s where my upcycled toy keychains begin.

Giving Old Toys a Second Life

Every upcycled toy keychain I make starts with a toy that already had a story.

Some are thrifted, some are well-loved, and some are missing pieces that once made them “complete.” Instead of seeing damage or flaws, I see potential — a chance to turn something overlooked into something fun, functional, and full of personality.

By transforming these toys into keychains, I’m able to give them a second life — one that gets carried every day on keys, bags, backpacks, and purses.

It’s sustainability with a playful twist.

Handmade With Care (and a Little Bit of Chaos)

Each keychain is handmade by me, one at a time.

That means:

• No mass production

• No duplicates 

• No two keychains are ever exactly the same

I carefully clean, reinforce, and securely attach hardware so your keychain is made to be used — not just admired. Every piece goes through my hands from start to finish, which makes each one feel a little more personal.

Some turn out cute.
Some turn out funny.
Some have full “main character energy.”

And honestly? That’s part of the magic.
